I never update my journal anymore... possibly because this is an art site, and I've had no desire to upload any art lately, thus I feel I shouldn't be cluttering your inbox with useless nonsense.

.... So I'm going to do it anyway. Hah.

I haven't drawn anything in a while. I doodled Aidan in my new sketchbook, but I really need to find one that has less of a grain to it cause I hate the way shading looks on grainy sketchbook paper =/ I might just start carrying around a folder with printer paper in it, or something, since that's so much better to work with.

That is, if I ever decide to start drawing again v.v

At the beginning of the year (I think... it might have been in, like, March or April, I don't really remember ._. ) , I decided I was going to make myself draw for at least an hour every night before bed. When I couldn't, for the life of me, find inspiration for pictures, I'd resort to quick little music-inspired doodles. Basically, I'd put my iPod on shuffle and, for the duration of every song that came up, I'd do a little sketch of whatever the song made me think of. If I wasn't feeling whatever I came up with, I'd abandon it and move on to the next song/sketch. If I wound up liking it, I'd put the song on repeat and finish the sketch. It worked out pretty well for a while, I managed to fill up an entire sketchbook with mostly random little nonsense doodles and a few fuller sketches that could potentially, eventually, be turned into something interesting.

Then Finals started. Then Summer and 40 hour work weeks, plus Cosplay-making and random flailing weekends, and eventually, I just gave up on drawing XD The most I'd ever do were little pen doodles in my notebook at work when I needed a break from effort, and, go figure, none of those were very interesting.

I do have a few sketches that I could go through and clean up, or even re-draw, and maybe even color, but.... I just have no desire to do so at the moment D8

So, likely, the only updates you'll be getting from me for a good while are the kinds of updates I've been giving lately: Cosplay.

I just got back from a convention in Tucson, and I've got at least 4 new costumes I have to finish by the second weekend in September, so that's where my weekends will be going.

Oh, and my boss decided to call me the Friday of the con this last weekend (The first day of the Con, mind you, when I was working the registration desk and at the time we had a line all the way to the door when I got a call from a number I didn't recognize, so I answered it, thinking it might be a staff member needing to get ahold of me. It was awkward realizing it was my boss, and when she asked me if I had a minute, it was in a tone that suggested I'd /better/ have a minute, I had to leave Jess all by herself while I hopped outside real quick) to let me know that she was 'terminating my internship early' (a.k.a. firing me), when I was originally going to be laid-off mid August. So that happened.... I need to start looking for a new job XD Cosplay-making is hindered a little by lack of income with which to buy supplies...

I bought white fabric for a cosplay I never wound up doing a while ago, so I could probably use that for Miyu's dress assuming I can find it within the bowels of Irony's house (assuming, also, that it hasn't been used for something else without my knowledge). I realize her dress is more of a light-blue color in the anime, but I like it better white, and that way I can cheat and change the color of the sash and technically have TWO cosplays at once (Manga and Anime versions), so... white it is!

Lal's outfit can mostly be pieced together with Thrift Store material so that shouldn't be too expensive... and I already have all the fabric for Lebreau, so I could /theoretically/ get them all done without having to spend much more money... hrnk.

I feel like I should be significantly more upset about the whole losing-my-job thing than I am, but I'm just... not the type to be bothered by things =/

I was reading back through some of my older journals and giggling at them. Oh the brain of a teenage girl... I have no idea how a flailing, Gackt-obsessed teen with Vampires in her head and typical boy problems managed to morph into a still-flailing, mostly apathetic towards almost everything, mostly asexual, cosplaying, almost-human, but it happened.

Eh. Such is life, I suppose XD

Hrm.... in other news, I recently reawakened my Legend of Zelda fandom. I don't know exactly how it happened, but it did, and it's dangerous ._. It's even kind of taking over my Zack fandom, which is a terrifying concept in itself. I really want to pull together a Sheik cosplay (and I don't care WHAT people (including the creators of the game) say, Sheik and Zelda are NOT the same person. They just can't be. There's no way Sheik can be such a badass and Zelda can be such a.... not... if they're the same person. I don't buy it) and I'm trying to convince my mom to cosplay Impa, cause she'd be a fantastic one XD I also want to do a regular Gerudo, Nabooru (cause she's awesome) and maybe Saria. I'd always wanted to try cosplaying Ruto, too, but I don't think I have the talent to make myself a fish-person bodysuit just yet ._.

At the Con this last weekend there was an Artist's Alley table that was selling buttons, and they had a Hylian Crest Symbol, so I asked if they had the Sheikah eye. The guy running it said they didn't, but I showed him the design and he said he'd have it for me by the next day, which he did <3 He even gave me a discount since I asked for the new design, which I thought was incredibly sweet.

I also had a Yoruichi/SoiFong Fangirl give me a patch that she'd painted Gaara on cause I was cosplaying Yoruichi and took a mildly Yuri-esque picture with a SoiFong for her, and a lovely girl at another Artist's Alley table gave me a free adorable purple Mochi plush thing for reasons I'm not entirely sure of (being awesome, I guess?) but she was fantastic and adorable and is now one of my favorite people for that <3

And my phone just rang and no one was there... but the number leads me to believe it was some kind of telemarketer... I don't remember the last time someone called just to talk to me in all my awesome... T^T Makes me feel slightly unloved.

I really need to go clean my room, in hopes that doing so will help me find my blue contacts (I was so bummed I couldn't bring them to the con D8 )... so I guess I'll finished downloading the Cats soundtrack and add that to my iPod so I can flail around like I used to and hopefully not damage anything valuable <3 I used to know all the songs and dances from that play, I wonder how many I can remember...

TL: DR- I don't really draw anymore. Sorry. I'm still awesome, and I'll give you pretty cosplay pictures to look at in the meantime 8D <3
Also, I was going through and getting rid of art that I don't like anymore.... and I feel like I'll be getting rid of more of it in the near future. If it's mildly interesting, I might try to re-draw it... possibly.... eventually..... gah v.v
